Important Reminder
Gas Powered Leaf Removal Equipment Banned
(Montgomery County Code Sec. 31B-9. Leaf removal equipment.)
​
Effective July 1, 2025, the use of handheld, backpack, and walk-behind gas-powered leaf removal equipment is banned in Montgomery County.
​
After July 1, 2025, the penalty for the use of banned equipment is $500 per violation.
​
Additional information is available from the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.
​
Limited rebates for the purchase of electric leaf removal equipment may be available .​​
​

In Montgomery County
all dogs & cats are required to have a county pet license.

Animal Noise
(Montgomery County Code,
Sec. 5-203(a)(6))
An owner must not allow an animal to cause noise that is loud enough and persistent enough to disturb another person’s quiet enjoyment. ($100 fine)
To report an animal creating a noise disturbance, please notify the Office of Animal Services via the police non-emergency number, 301.279.8000.
